AMES, Iowa – The Midwest High School Hockey League Varsity Tournament is set for this weekend, Friday, February 24th through Sunday, February 26th at the Ames/ISU Ice Arena in Ames. Last season Quad Cities won the title over the Des Moines Capitals and both are once again in the tourney but all eyes are on Waterloo who posted a league best 31-1-0 record which included a league best-ever 26-game winning streak. Kansas City won the west division with a 28-4-0 record and sports a 22-game winning streak into the tournament.

Kansas City 6, Ames 1(KC Goals: Sabina, Lopicka, Scibona (2) , Blow, Pollitt; Ames Goals: Oh

3rd Place Championship

Quad Cities 7, Des Moines Oak Leafs 3 (Six different players scored goals for the Blues)

MHSHL Championship

Waterloo 4, Kansas City 2 (Waterloo completes a 34-1-0 season while capturing their second title in four years)
