Grand View Men's Golf: Walter MCC Men’s Golfer of the Week

DES MOINES, Iowa -- Grand View sophomore David Walter (Eau Claire, Wis.) was voted as the Midwest Collegiate Conference Player of the Week for men’s golf announced today.

Walter was recognized for his performance at the Oklahoma Christian Intercollegiate meet last week.

Walter finished third individually at the tourney with a three-round score of one-under par (69-70-73 = 212) and led the Vikings to a second place finish in an event that featured seven of the top-rated men’s golf in the nation. Grand View finished second to Oklahoma Christian, the top rated team in the nation in last week’s Golf World/Nike Poll as well as the NAIA, and in front of Oklahoma City who was rated as the top team in the NAIA Poll in the spring of 2011 and the No. 7 team in the most recent Golf World/Nike Poll.
