The Altoona Kiwanis Club will be sponsoring an all you can eat pancake breakfast from 7:00 am – 10:30 am for spectators. The cost will be $5.00 for adults and $3.00 for children.
Over 180 children and youth ranging in age from six to eighteen are ready to play baseball on a specially built field just for them! The Kiwanis Miracle League 2010 opening day ceremonies will start at 11:15 am with a dedication of the Jacobson Pavilion and memorial garden; with the first pitch to follow.
The Miracle League offers accessible recreational opportunities for children with special needs so that they can participate in a team sport as a member of an organized baseball team. The Miracle League field is constructed of a cushioned rubberized turf to help prevent injuries, and a completely flat surface to eliminate any barriers to wheelchair bound or visually impaired players.
