The Iowa Sports Connection has been around now for 13 years! The look and the products have changed over the years, but our message and our mission have remained the same.

"Promote positive participation in youth sports by recognizing active Iowans from the Pee-Wees to the Preps to the Pros."

Our President and Founder, Mike Rickord, started the company out of his garage. As he followed his own sons youth sports activities he realized that there was a need to recognize and highlight the achievements of parents, coaches, and the youth who were participating in the numerous programs around the state. The benefits to young people, the long hours of volunteer coaches, and the lengths that parents will go to support their children in their athletic endeavours are all worthy and deserving of praise.

The company and its stable of products have grown tremendously over the years. We currently have a monthly magazine with a readership of over 75,000 per month. We have three weekly radio programs dedicated to youth and high school sports reaching the entire state of Iowa through our Iowa Sports Connection radio network, our numerous statewide affiliates, and internet streaming. We also have two websites and two weekly e-newsletters that we publish to help keep you up to date on youth sports on a daily basis!

To the general public we offer a subscription to our monthly magazine for only $19.95 per year. This high quality print product along with our radio shows and websites provide positive (and only positive) information to active Iowans across the state. Pictures, results, feature stories, along with special recognition stories are just a few of the things you will find in our products.
